Torbay car parking permits have doubled in price

Even though I have the blue badge I still require a Torbay car parking permit in order for me to park free of charge in Torbay car parks. This year the council have doubled the price of an annual car park permit for the disabled. It's gone from £20 up to £40. To say I'm quite dismayed is an understatement. If I was to calculate how many times I use the car parks I probably wouldn't even spend £40 in the whole year on car park tickets. How much will parking permits increase by next year, double again?

I'm basically stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don't use Torbay council car parks on a regular basis, but when I do I'm quite often on my own and therefore the parking permit is extremely important. There is not any other alternative, I just have to pay the money and live with it.

I live on the south-west coast of England in a small town called Brixham.  I been confined to a wheelchair 1986 after breaking my neck in a swimming pool accident.  Computers are my saviour and I spend most days doing one thing or another on my PC.  Other interests I have include angling and amateur radio.  I also run a website and forum dedicated to looking after and caring for the Oscar fish cichlid
